The splash sounded loud in the otherwise empty pool. Of course, who really snuck into school in the middle of the night to swim. You would think a lot of people, but Chris encountered no one when she got here. The fact she had been a cat might have been the reason why though.
She started swimming laps, her purple and black striped bikini seeming to glow in the warped lighting of the pools under water lamps. She was currently in her human form, she had sort of a fear of water getting into her ears, and had a sort of spaced out look on her face. She wasn't really thinking, which was strange for her. Right now she was willing all her thoughts to just leave, and they were doing so pretty well.
She looked down at the bottom of the pool and kicked her way until her feet brushed the concrete, then she just sat there, her eyes open, hair floating around her, bubbles trickling from her nose. She stared at the warped light in front of her and let her vision blur purposely, distorting the light further. She'd been gone from him for a year, one year and she could still remember everything. Her ribs still hurt at random times and she couldn't breath when she heard that name. Or course Dani thought she was having something serious other than just a typical panic attack so she got worried, Chris plead over exhaustion from studying. It worked.
Her vision started to swim from lack of air and she struggled to stay down a bit longer, her lungs screaming. When finally her vision started to blacken around the edges she kicked off hard and her head broke the surface, her greedy gasp for air echoing as she waded there in the water, her face emotionless.

Jo rubbed her hands together and brought them to her mouth. She blew over them, sending a small flame over them. One would think that being a pyro would keep you warm in colder weather, but it was just the opposite. She was a lot more susceptible to the cold because she really wasn't used to it. Of course, it'd be easy to just engulf herself in fire to warm herself up, but that'd burn her clothes. Sure, she could walk around like the freakin' Human Torch, but then she'd just burn anything else she touched, and if she turned back she'd be naked.
Life sucked.
But she didn't feel like returning to her dorm. It was just one of those nights. She couldn't sleep. She didn't feel like sleeping. Her way of remedying that was to walk. It didn't matter where. Wherever her legs took her was fine as long as she could waste some time before she dropped from exhaustion. She blew over her hands again.
Jo stopped at the door to the gym. She stared at them, wondering if it wasa good idea to go inside. Why would she? There was a basketball court, a tennis court, a pool, a...
A pool. Water. She was like a human water heater. Heated water. Giant hot tub!
Well, she hadn't mastered her powers to the degree of being able to heat the entire pool, but certainly enough of it. She entered the gym and made a b-line for the pool, leaving a trail of her clothes as she walked. Luckily, she was the only one in the room. She was naked before she even reached the pool, and after flicking her glasses onto the ground, she leapt into the air and changed forms. Flight was a hell of a convenience.
She flew to the pool and hovered a few feet over it, blasting flames over the surface of the water as hot as she could make them. She tried to spread the heat out as much as she could, and when she noticed steam after a minute or two, she'd decided that was enough. "Cannonball!" she exclaimed as she darted upwards a few feet, switched forms back, and plunged into the water. It felt wonderful... She sighed in content and leaned her back against the edge of the pool beside her. She felt so much better...until she saw a shape under the water - dark, slowly getting bigger. Rising. And then there it was, no more than a yardstick away.
A girl.
Had she been under the water the whole time? "Well," she started, blinking. She didn't continue. What could she say? "...Hi."

I could have sworn the water was colder earlier. Was the first thought to reach Christina's mind as she looked at the wall in front of her. If there were more people she'd come to a disgusting conclusion, but she was alone. Or rather, she had been alone. The sound of a womans voice made Chris yelp and turn around quickly. She blushed red when she realized she'd been caught in the pool alone. “H-hello.” She stammered, looking down. “I-I didn't realize there w-was anyone else-” Her mind shut off when she realized the distorted view before her was the other womans naked body. She blushed harder and yelped out the word. “Here.”
Now what was she supposed to do? If she looked down she'd be staring at the other girls nude body, but if she didn't she'd see all the weird looks she was getting for acting like an idiot. She was fucked either way. Well, better to be an idiot than a pervert. She bit her lip and looked at the other girl, swallowing hard. Her mind searched for something to say while at the same time fighting an urge to just dissapear (something she used to do in school during speechs which resulted in fainting), a bad idea in the water. She let her hands float just under the surface of the water and suddenly some words reached her. “Did you make the water warmer?” She whispered this as she chewed her lip, looking at the girl from under her lids.
She let her eyes travel over the girls features, trying to be discreet. She looked like someone Dani might know, short red hair, various piercings and what looked like tattoos. Definitely someone Dani could be friends with. She bit her lip when she realized her eyes had lingered longer than just a glance and her eyes darted up. She was torn between the urge to duck under the water and hide for an hour or so (though she'd only last 3 minutes at most) and the urge not to look like a fool and suffer immense embarassment. So she was stuck floating in the water infront of a (naked!) girl, her own face bright red.
Of course, as luck would have it, in all her thinking, Chris forgot to tread the water and she found herself dunking under before struggling up again with a rather unattractive gulp of air and terrified look on her face. Her face paled rather than go red and her eyes grew wide as she looked at the girl. “Please ignore the fact I just did that.” She stammered out quickly, hoping to retain some sort of pride tonight.

Jo's head rolled to the side as she watched the girl squirm. She bit back a smile so she wouldn't think she was mocking her, but on the contrary, it was quite the opposite. She thought it was cute. She relaxed again, clearing her throat as the other girl spoke. She tried to bite back a smile, in case the girl would think she was mocking her, but she was failing. Quite the contrary, she wasn't smiling because she was laughing at her... Okay, she was laughing at her, but not in a negative sense.
She was just so cute.
"There wasn't," she said, her accent only barely noticeable. "Now there is." Her accent was stronger this time. She drew circles in the water with her finger, her eyes glued to the stammering girl in front of her. The redness of her cheeks was making her excited. To be honest, Jo preferred girls like this. They were like cute little appetizers at a party that you'd eat a million of before the main course. Jo, personally, she could've had them for the main course.
"I did," she answered. The girl was checking her out now. She could tell. She might have been able to get away with it some other time, but her glances weren't inconspicuous enough. Jo was watching the girl watch her. She was a cute little thing herself... The way her crimson face contrasted her pale skin was perfect. Shy girls were always the most fun to play with. She relaxed more, arching her back and lifting her chest from the water to give her friend a nice, unabashed view. She held the stretch for a few seconds, wanting her to see her breasts - wishing she would stare at them, at her nipple piercing. She released her pose with a sigh and spread her legs a bit under the water, though whether for her benefit or her audience's was questionable even to her.
She raised an eyebrow as the girl started sinking. Was she doing that on purpose? Apparently not, because she was now trying desperately to recover. Jo covered her mouth as she chuckled. A part of her felt bad, like she was insulting her, but she couldn't help it. She was so...wired. "It's fine, honey." She smiled softly and patted the edge next to her. "Why don't you come over here? I can barely hear your pretty little quiet voice from over there, and if you start to sink again, I promise I'll catch you."

Jo was laughing at her, Chris could tell that much by the smile on her lips. Her eyes dropped a little, slightly offended, until she realized there was none of the normal hostility associated with how most people laughed at her. It was more of the "I'm laughing, but I hope you are finding this humorous as well because I'm really trying not to be a bitch" kind of feeling she got. She chanced another look at the gitl and realized she was right, she wasn't really laughing at her. Well she was, but not in a cruel way. It was kind of strange, even Dani laughed at Chris. She felt bad later, but she did it still.
Chris blinked at the girls voice and her head cocked to the side slightly. She could just barely catch an accent, and she wanted to hear more. This girl had a nice voice. Her next words were saturated in the accent and a mental purr rolled through Chris' mind. She loved accents, unless it was German or Russian. Those were not pretty languages which meant ugly accents. Chris' eyes caught the movement of Jo's fingers in the water and moved to look at them before darting back, much the way a cat might.
Chris blushed, of course this girl had, there was no one else who could have done it. The only question was . . . How? If she were still 5 she might have thought some bodily function was the cause, but Chris was an intellectual young woman. Her nose wrinkled and she studied the girl, for the moment the blush gone from her cheeks as she tried to identify how she'd done it. Of course, at the moment it clicked what she was Chris' brain turned back on and she realized how the girl currently had herself situated in the water. She blushed furiously and tried to drop her attention from Jo's chest, but as she did Jo relaxed and spred her legs under the water. Oh, fuck me! Chris thought with embarassment. “You're Pyrokinetic.” She accounced quickly, her eyes moving back to the girls face.
Chris tried to come up with a reason for leaving quickly, wanting to go hide under a rock. But the girls voice reached her again and the purr ran down her spine again. She looked up and blushed a little. “I'm Christina.” She said softly, making her way to the edge, though not quite as close as the girl had indicated. Something about this woman was making her hair stand on end, but Chris wasn't sure if it was in a bad way or not.

Somehow, her name sounded even better when the other girl said it, but maybe that was just because Jo always loved hearing other girls say her name. Especially if they were screaming it. Unless they were angry... Or a cop...
Or, God forbid, both.
Jo watched the girl turn every shade of red in the spectrum, and she took a twisted pleasure in it. She took it as a compliment if she could make a girl nervous enough to blush, especially as deeply as this girl was, yet keep her from leaving. People revealed who they truly were when they were pushed. Convince the biggest, strongest guy in the room that he will die if he doesn't tell you what you want to know, and you may just find out that he's nothing but a coward at heart. A little extreme, but...it got the point across.
This girl... She was obviously flustered, but she had yet to tell Jo to stop. How much could she mind? Maybe she even liked it, reveled in the attention. Jo did. She loved the look on her face, watching her shudder, hearing her stutter. It was a predator's high. It was how a wolf felt after cornering its prey. That feeling of utter dominance, of knowing that you hold the power and you can make this tiny little creature before you bow to your whim; it was addicting. But she didn't compare women to "tiny little creatures," much as the girl before her reminded her of one. No, she was too attractive for such an...unsavory title.
She moaned softly as the name escaped the girl's lips, just to see what shade of red her cute little face would turn next. "Christina," she repeated with a soft smile. "That's a pretty name." She moved back, giving her a reprieve for the moment. She figured she'd tortured the girl enough for the moment. With all the blood rushing to her face like that, Jo was surprised she was still conscious. "I'm not your sister, but I hope you don't mind if I call you Chris, too."

Chris blushed softly. She'd always liked French, it was a beautiful language to her and had always been a bit of a turn on for her. Unfortunately French guys were hard to come by in L.A. French girls too. She thought idly then blushed red. Not sure why that would even matter. She wasn't interested in women . . . Was she? She could help but look over at the girl as she thought this, of course at that moment she was called a mouse. She blushed a little, but the Neko in her bristled some. She was NOT a mouse. She was a feline and damn proud. Her skin twitched as her mental status quivered at the sound of the french name, but her cheeks grew redder as she was gently chastised. She blushed softly and smiled sweetly. “Nice to meet you Jo.” She said quietly, trying to raise her voice a tad as her eyes dipped down shyly, only to dart right back up.
Chris watched as Jo's eyes traveled up and down her body and a shiver rolled down her spine. She could almost feel her eyes, like someone was caressing her body. She bit her lip and quivered, unsure about this whole meeting. The look on her eyes was something you might imagine a wolf would have when it saw a plump little girl with a basket of goodies. The look should unnerve her, and in a sense it did, but not in a bad way. Jo was dangerous and it put Chris on edge, making her want to run. It was similar to being trapped in an alley way by a dark stranger, but while those feeling would be pure terror this was more of a fear/excitement of what might happen.
Chris's eyes darted up at Jo's words and she had a feeling her curiosity for what was going to happen might just be satisfied. She bit her lip, stifling a soft yelp and looked at Jo fearfully. As she moved closer Chris's skin twitched with the need to get away, but she couldn't think let alone move. She swallowed hard and her brain was almost melting as Jo leaned in and asked her name again. Her lips trembled as they tried to form the word. “C-Christina Dawn Hale.” She stammered out. Then swallowed. “But my sister calls me Chris.”

Chris actually yelped softly in surprise as Jo seemed to moan. Her face paled then returned to, what seemed to be, it's normal shade of red. A shiver ran down her spine so forcefully she jerked back, hitting her shoulder blade on the ledge. She groaned in pain and rubbed her shoulder. In the words of Dani, “way to go super retard.” She thought, feeling like an idiot. At least the pain was making it hard to be so damn terrified of human interaction and her blush had subsided. She blushed a little. “Thank you.” She murmured softly. No one complimented her name before, usually because the other girls named Christina that she knew were sluts.
When Jo moved away part of Chris un-knotted, but she felt suddenly alone, the way one might feel if they had been crammed into a gym pack with people for so long they had gotten used to it, only for all the people to suddenly vanish. Half of her urged her to move closer, but she remained where she was, her right hand gripping her left shoulder, though by now the pain was a dull throb. Chris blushed a tad and smiled, shaking her head. “I-i don't mind.” She was never referred to as Chris by anyone but Dani usually. Everyone else defaulted with Christina or Hale. Somehow Chris sounded a lot prettier when Jo said it. Usually when she heard it it sounded like some rushed was of referring to her, even when Dani said it and especially when their Mother had said it. “I'd like it.” The words kind of tumbled out, skipping the part where they were supposed to remain a thought. She blushed and looked toward the other side of the pool.
Chris stared at the water then chewed her lip. “S-So how long have you been here Jo?” She asked softly, absentmindedly playing with the small tie on her bikini bottom under the water. It was a tad strange that hitting her shoulder had managed to snap her out of her paralyzing shyness. She was still fearful and nervous, but not the the point where she forgot how to breath and tred water. She glanced at Jo out of the corner of her eye then blushed as her gaze started to travel over her. Chris reprimanded herself silently and turned her attention back again, chewing her lip.

The yelp was almost enough to push Jo over the edge. She wanted nothing more than to pin this cute little girl to the ground, spread her legs, and have a ball. She wondered if she made cute little moans, quiet as the way she spoke. Maybe she was a screamer. As much as she wanted to find out, she resisted. She had a thing about having sex with girls she didn't know anything about, and though she could take a guess based on her reactions, Jo couldn't vouch for Chris's sexuality. Getting close without touching her was one thing, but if she did and Chris was a straight arrow...
Jo giggled as Chris jerked back and hit her shoulder. It only made her cuter. She smiled at Chris's reply. Of course she would. Now, Jo was a full-fledged lesbian - flaming, she supposed, considering her rather...butch-esque attitude and choice of clothing, but she had never found the term "butch" remotely attractive and saw it rather inaccurate in her case. She may not have always vocalized her preferences, but she'd known for long enough, and with that being said, she had a functioning gaydar.
Yeah, it's real.
The more she watched Chris, the more it went off. She could tell Chris wasn't a lesbian...but she was open-minded. It gave Jo all the wiggle room she needed. She could feel Chris was...attracted? - no, maybe she was just interested - whatever it was, it was there, and it was telling her not to rebuke Jo's advances. That was good. She watched the mousy girl with sultry eyes, licking her lips and wondering how her skin would taste when she turned away from her. It was strange. Jo liked sex - hell, she loved it and she could admit it - but she'd never found herself so occupied with it. Well...not on a daily basis. ...And this wasn't a daily event, so she supposed it wasn't that odd. But she couldn't remember the last time her mind had been so sexually orientated towards someone she didn't even know. ...On second thought, yes she could - last weekend at Electricity.
Jo put aside justifying her promiscuity to answer Chris. "Long enough." She stared at her shoulder and held her place for a few moments longer before closing the distance between the two of them. She touched her, once and for all - one arm around her right shoulder and her breasts pressed lightly against her back. She peeled Chris's hand to plant a soft kiss on her shoulder. "There," she whispered. "Feel better?"

Again Chris felt Jo's eyes on her and she blushed, afraid to look over and meet the gaze she could feel scorching her skin. She craved the comfort of her towel or clothing, but she couldn't bring herself to move from the pool. Her skin was tingling, her mind couldn't form a thought and for the first time since her birth she actually wanted contact with another being of the homo genus. Her sister was a different case. She craved being with her, but their connection was what made that possible. With anyone else she got the flight response.
She blushed as Jo laughed when Chris hit her shoulder. She knew the normal response would be to feel hurt, and she did a little, but not at Jo for laughing. At herself for acting like an idiot. The more she interacted with Jo the more she started analyzing herself. She was usually a very logical and resourceful woman, even when she was nervous. But something about Jo made her feel like she was so small and unprepared. Jo radiated confidence and Chris felt her own insecurity being overshadowed and yet enhanced by it. She felt like there was so much more she could do, but she didn't know what it was or why she wanted to do whatever it was. Logically a person did something to please someone. So who did Chris want to please? Herself, no, she'd know what it was then. In the back of her mind a voice screamed out Jo, but that couldn't be it. Chris had just met her and thus had no connection.
Of course this indecisiveness about what she felt she needed to do was slowly pulling her back into her mousy personality.
She had caught Jo's expression and the licking of her lips when she had looked at Chris, but she had tried to ignore it. She tried not to think about it, but if she allowed herself she would have found, in the dark recesses of her mind, an image of herself, in her Hanyou form and wearing nothing buy a black collar, handcuffed on a bed, her body writhing while Jo knelt over her, that same expression on her face with an almost sadistic smile playing on her lips. That was a forbidden thought as far as her logical brain was concerned, never to surface.
She jumped slightly as she felt Jo's arm around her. She tensed, her extra sensitive skin feeling every curve of Jo's body as it pressed against her. Numbly she left Jo remove her hand and she simply stared at the wall infront of her. The instant Jo's lips touched her skin, which as far as she could tell was burning at 106, the forbidden imaged flashed across her mind and she let loose a low, moan like meow. The instant Jo spoke Chris jerked away, her face red and her eyes brimming with tears of embarrassment. “I'm sorry.” She yelped, scrambling out of the pool. She wasn't sure if she was apologizing for the reaction before or after Jo spoke.
She darted for the locker room, but her foot caught some water that she had splashed onto the deck and she slipped, her body twisting like it normally would. But the shortness of the fall caused her to land on her hip. Her face burning now.

Jo had to admit she was a bit torn. On one hand, she wanted to jump Chris's bones, right then and there. Well...she'd like to get her out of the pool first, of course. Still, the thought of waiting around and judging her sexuality wasn't appealing. On the other hand, it was. People were just animals at heart, despite how much they liked to separate themselves from the other mammals. Chris sort of reminded Jo of an armadillo, curled up in her corner trying to protect herself, but Jo was a predator, and a stubborn one at that. She didn't know what kind of animal that made her, but she knew that, no matter what she told herself, it was in her nature to rip down any barrier standing in the way of her getting what she wanted. Like a bear or something.
Jo couldn't even express the pleasure she got from hearing that kitten-like moan. Its cuteness was indescribable. She was looking forward to caressing that cute little body Chris's, but then before she had the chance, the girl hopped up like a bat out of Hell. More importantly, she was crying. Jo was stunned. She didn't understand. She couldn't say she wasn't surprised Chris had resisted her. She wouldn't call herself arrogant, but...confident. That confidence didn't often allow her to accept defeat, but that wasn't at the forefront of Jo's mind. Chris was crying. Of course she wanted to soothe her and comfort her - she could never stand the sight of a pretty girl crying - but she was absolutely befuddled as to why. She'd never made a girl cry before, for any reason.
Her sunk a little when she saw Chris trip. It was like watching a car crash. Things just went from bad to worse for this girl, didn't they? Jo couldn't stand by and watch her crash and burn... She was too cute for it, although the truth was she would've done it for anyone. She took a second to look around, and cursed the fact that she was wet. Being stark naked was enough to make the little kitten flip her shit when she was veiled by the water; somehow, exposing her unadulterated nude body to her and making her even more nervous didn't seem like a good idea. She cursed the fact that she was wet. If she weren't, she could use her flame form to mask her nudity, but that option was out. Her clothes were too far away... With a frown, she sighed. She didn't really have a way to cover herself, but at the same time she couldn't take the risk of spooking Chris... Well, she was a master of improvisation anyway.
Jo climbed out of the pool and slowly made her way over to Chris. She felt like she was approaching a wild animal, careful not to make any sudden movements or even breathe the wrong way. There was a concerned, but kind look painted on her face as she knelt, using one arm to cover her breasts, while her legs were closed together too tightly for her crotch to be visible. "Suga', are you okay?" she asked softly. She held her free hand out to the girl, but was wary of touching her just yet. That didn't seem to go so well last time.

Chris groaned and rubbed her throbbing hip, her face red as she stared at her bruised body. She heard the noise of Jo climbing out of the water and instantly she felt bad. Because she had been too stupid to even walk across a flat surface she had disrupted Jo's time in the pool. Why of why couldn't she have just picked a different night to come here. Then Jo would have been able to enjoy the pool with out the night being screwed up by Chris. Chris quickly shifted to a sitting position, her knees drawn to her chest, trying to appear alright. She stared at the ground and cursed herself, hoping that Jo would buy her act and return to the pool so Chris could disappear into the locker room.
She waited a long moment and heard nothing else so she assumed that Joe had returned to the pool, or possibly left her sorry ass sitting where it was, as she had every right to. Part of this made Chris relax slightly and she unfolded just enough to examine her hip. There would be a bruise, that much was obvious, and there was a few scratches from the rough deck of the pool area. She frowned, and bit her lip, wishing she had some antiseptic spray. The soft lapping of her water brought her mind back to what had led to this bruise.
Why had she reacted that way? It wasn't like she was sexually starved. Well, it had been a few years since she had left Nick, and she hadn't exactly . . . relieved herself since then. Of course, back with Nick her appetite hadn't ever controlled their coming together, his always had. After all those years of being with him she eventually stopped having cravings of any sort. But that didn't explain her reaction to that small, and probably innocent, little kiss of Jo's, or the image that had crossed her mind during it. Maybe she was getting ill. That would explain it, wouldn't it? She could be having some sort of a mental breakdown that causes her behavior to become erratic and completely out of character.
Chris' musings were disrupted as Jo's soft voice caught her attention, causing her to jump slightly. She had been so sure Jo had left. She chewed her lip and looked up, fully intending to mumble that she was fine then flee, but the image that greeted her made her pause and stare, wide eyed, her lips parted softly in wonder. Jo, who just moments ago had been more than comfortable with her nakedness was now crouching in front of Chris, one arm covering her breasts and her legs pulled tightly together. She made no move to touch Chris and concern flooded her eyes. She was trying to make Chris comfortable, even though she looked a bit uncomfortable herself. Nick had never done anything like that, and Chris and Dani were so comfortable with each other that Chris' twin had no qualms about waltzing naked into the kitchen and chugging from the milk carton.
After a long moment Chris blinked and she dropped her eyes shyly, blushing slightly as she chewed her lip, a smile tugging at the corners. She nodded. “Mhm.” She whispered, well aware she was acting like the stupid girl in those teen movies. She shook her head, reprimanding herself, though she couldn't exactly get rid of that silly look in her eyes, and looked up. “I'm alright. Thank you Jo.” She dropped her gaze and bit her lip. “I-I'm sorry if I disrupted you. I'll go so you can enjoy the pool to yourself.” She stood and gave a short little bow before she turned and started for the locker rooms, trying not to run but not walk too slow either. Part of her hoped that Jo would call her back or follow or something, but she figured that she had made enough of a fool of herself tonight to keep Jo at bay. Not that she blamed her.

Jo couldn't help but wince as she caught sight of Chris's injury. Not the end of the world, but she was sure it was painful. Technically, she'd caused it. If Chris hadn't been in such a rush to get away, she wouldn't have tripped. How could she not feel guilty now? She felt like she needed to make it up to her now. People got hurt. It was part of life. Jo was no girl scout. She hurt people all the time, more often than not on purpose, but when it wasn't... Well, the least she could do was offer an apology.
It took a second for her thoughts to come together - since when did she wait to make a logical decision anyway? - but the moment she did, she didn't let Chris get more than a few steps away from her. "Hey, wait!" she called as she grabbed Chris's arm. Son of a... Hadn't she been trying not to touch her a few seconds ago? She saved the mental reprimand - though in hindsight, it was probably because constantly put off the mental reprimand that she never learned anything - and held the petite girl in her place, firmly but not aggressively. Christ, it was cold, too. She shivered and felt her nipples harden against her arm. "Look," she said slowly, "I interrupted you." She took her hand from Chris's arm and hugged herself, half in an attempt to conceal her chest and half just to warm up. "You were here first." Not that she would have wanted a cute girl like her to leave anyway, but if things had been Chris's fault, Jo would have let her know. She would've been the first to rub it in her face. But the fact was that Chris had been in the pool - possibly long - before Jo had gotten there. She was the one that had burst in and decided to heat things up. ...No pun intended. She just didn't like the tone of Chris's voice. She felt like she'd spoiled something, when, in fact, she'd made it much, much better. Probably more than she knew. At that thought, Jo was tempted to eye Chris's body again, but she resisted. There was a time and place for everything.
"Hey, don't look so sad," she said as she rubbed Chris's shoulder. "There's nothin' I've ever done alone that I wouldn't have preferred to do with a pretty girl around," she continued with a wink. A part of her was telling her that she was complete hetero-shy-girl repellent, but another was too wrapped up in her own arrogance to care. There was no such thing as innocent around Jo. She had a tendency to, sometimes inadvertently, turn innocent acts into sexual innuendos. It was just a reflex, she supposed, to flirt with any and every attractive girl she came upon, regardless of race, religion, or even their own sexual preference.
"And yes, I am flirtin' with you." She smiled seductively. She couldn't help herself again. She loved Chris's reactions to her, except when, you know, they included her bolting out of a pool and hurting herself. She sort of liked the honest approach, too. Jo had to admit, she was a bit...hesitant to admit her sexuality back home - hell, it was Louisiana - but she wasn't back home anymore. For Christ's sake, the girl she was hitting on had cat ears! She had better things to be ashamed of than being a lesbian. "I've been flirtin' with you the whole time. So it's okay. You didn't disrupt anything. Understand?" she asked with another wink.

When Jo flinched Chris frowned in confusion, until she realized why the woman had flinched. She quickly shifted herself, hiding the bruised flesh from Jo’s direct line of sight. She felt bad that Jo felt responsible, she didn’t want Jo to feel responsible for it, if Chris hadn’t been stupid and clumsy it wouldn’t have happened, Jo’s the one who came to her aid because of it. She chewed her lip nervously and her hand twitched, wanting to go and comfort Jo and tell her it wasn’t her fault. Of course she didn’t.
Some part of Chris jumped for joy when Jo stopped her from going, of course at that realization she started to over analyze her feelings. Of course it was hard to get her mind past how warm Jo’s hand was on her arm. She chewed her lip and just started at Jo’s hand, in sort of a daze. When her hand fell from Chris’ arm Chris looked up in confusion. She blinked, her eyes wide. “You’re cold.” She gasped softly. She frowned then turned and darted for her purple and black towel which was laying on a bench not too far from them. In her desperation to escape she had forgotten it. She snatched it up and dashed back, wrapping it around Jo’s shoulders, concern written on her face as she moved back to stand in front of her. Baka! Now she’s cold because your dumb ass had to trip and she came to your aid. Stupid cat! She frowned at herself.
Chris chewed her lip as Jo shifted the blame from Chris and to herself. She looked down at her feet, her brow furrowed. She didn’t want Jo to feel bad about something that wasn’t her fault. She looked up as she felt Jo’s hand on her shoulder and her eyes widened a bit. A low purr started in her throat and she blushed a little, looking down. What could she say? She was a cat and cat’s enjoyed being petted. (Pun intended). She gasped softly and blushed more as a smile made its way onto her lips at Jo’s innuendo. Part of her still twisted up shyly at the comment, but she was relaxing a bit more so she could appreciate the compliment, even though it hinted at a lot more than it actually said.
The blush faded and Chris looked up suddenly in surprise. She blinked stupidly and frowned. “But why?” She asked, effectively putting her prune-y and chlorine smelling foot in her mouth. She couldn’t understand why Jo would be flirting with her, Jo was gorgeous and outgoing and kind and Chris was some mousey (pardon the pun) clumsy little cat. It didn’t add up, it wasn’t logical. Besides, Chris only liked men . . .
Right?
